Greetings from Madisonville, the Texas home of Monterey Mushrooms, Inc.; and the recognized Mushroom Capital of Texas. We invite you to join us for the tenth annual TEXAS MUSHROOM FESTIVAL on Saturday, October 22. Last year’s festival was a truly outstanding event, and 2011 will be even better. From humble beginnings in 2002, this festival has grown and evolved. New events have been added each year, and the numbers of attendees have increased to approximately 15,000 in 2010.

The arts and crafts event featured 233 booths in 2010 including: jewelry, accessories, decorative items, pottery, clothing, furniture, seasonal art, toys, and many types of food; to name only a few.
This year’s festival includes: mushroom cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, wine tasting, a car show, mushroom growing demonstrations, a 5k run/walk, a children’s
area, a petting zoo, pony rides, and musical entertainment.

We invite you to reserve a booth at this year’s festival. All booths will be outside, and you must provide all booth materials (tables, chairs, canopy, etc.). Please note that there are restrictions listed on the application form. Booth rental is $75.00 for a 10ft. X 10ft. curb side space with one side access. Corner booths or those down the middle of the street will have one or two additional open sides. There is a $10 fee for each additional side. Electricity and water, if needed, are $10/outlet used and are added to the cost of booth rental. If you are a food vendor, you must have either a State of Texas or a Madison County Temporary Food Establishment Permit ($52 payable to Madison Co.) All vendors must have a Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit or proof of exemption.

The festival area includes the Courthouse Square, streets surrounding the downtown district, and across the street from the historic Woodbine Hotel, The festival begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m. Check out details at: www.texasmushroomfestival.com.
